Max Leitman was born and raised in Los Angeles. Following his graduation from the University of California at Berkeley, Leitman worked on various political campaigns for two years, quickly rising to the position of campaign manager.

During his first year of law school at Georgetown University Law Center, Max earned a special commendation from the dean for having the highest academic average in his section. Leitman then transferred to the University of Chicago Law School where he went on to earn his Juris Doctor, with honors.

Max began his legal career at Irell & Manella LLP in Los Angeles. While at Irell, he was member of the firm’s Corporate and IP Transactional work groups, focusing on representing internet, media and entertainment clients such as AOL, Charter Communications, Mattel and Paramount Studios in complex licensing, finance and acquisitive transactions.

Drawn to the world of large complex corporate transactions, Leitman accepted a position with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP in New York, a firm that has been consistently rated the best corporate law firm in America by the American Lawyer Magazine. While at Skadden, Max focused exclusively on mergers and acquisitions for both public and private companies, working on deals valued at over $1 billion in the aggregate.

In 2004, Leitman returned to Los Angeles, where he joined the boutique firm Advisors LLP, which represents a number of prominent corporate, real estate and entertainment clients. He is a member of the bar in both New York and California.
